Marketing Beyond the 9-5
A few weeks ago, my husband asked me to take a "quick look" at his elevator pitch video assignment that was due that afternoon.
It was... typical. He was seated in front of his laptop video, clearly uncomfortable on camera, and reading from a script.
He was checking a box. I knew he could do better.
We uncovered the real objective of the project. It wasn't to sell products to clients, it was to show confidence and to sell himself to executives in the company.
We got to work.
In an hour, the video went from uninspired to innovative and impactful.
I’m not a director, scriptwriter, videographer, or salesperson in the mortgage industry, but I am a marketer. I see opportunities, I look for immediate and big-picture solutions, and I find ways to deliver results with limited resources.
So, what happened when my husband shared his video? It was the buzz around the office. He garnered recognition from executives and inspired his colleagues to take a risk and do more than what’s expected. He gained confidence. Mission accomplished.
Big thanks to Peloton Interactive for inspiring us daily, to Canva for making it easy to create graphics, and Apple iMovie for making video editing simple!
